FILM: Climate change and the cotton sector in semi-arid regions of Pakistan

Climate change is impacting economies and communities around the world. Globally more than one billion people live in semi-arid lands, and Pakistan is the world’s fourth-largest producer of cotton, much of which is grown in the country’s semi-arid regions.

In this documentary, part of Research Area 3, we look at the impact of climate change on Pakistan’s cotton sector by examining the cotton supply chain as we work collaboratively with economic decision makers, policymakers and civil society to identify opportunities for economic transformation and diversification in the cotton sector in order to build economic resilience to climate change.
