Declan is Professorial Research Fellow at the Grantham Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, at the London School of Economics and Political Science (GRI-LSE), leading its research programme on adaptation and development. He has 20 years’ experience in research on climate-society interactions in developing countries.
Declan held a part-time secondment with the UK Department for International Development as a Senior Research Fellow on climate change. He is also Co-editor in Chief of Global Environmental Change (Elsevier) and holds editorial positions with Climate Change and Development (Earthscan) and Food Security: the science, sociology and economics of food production and access to food (Springer).
Within PRISE, Declan coordinates the GRI-LSE research. He also represents PRISE in liaising with ASSAR on the coordination of activities on climate science and scenarios, and represents PRISE in the cross-CARIAA working group on scenarios. He is involved in research on Governance, Institutions and Finance, and is working on poverty alleviation, development planning and climate change.
