Declan Conway

Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment

Declan is Professorial Research Fellow at the Grantham Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, at the London School of Economics and Political Science (GRI-LSE), leading its research programme on adaptation and development. He has 20 years’ experience in research on climate-society interactions in developing countries.

Declan held a part-time secondment with the UK Department for International Development as a Senior Research Fellow on climate change. He is also Co-editor in Chief of Global Environmental Change (Elsevier) and holds editorial positions with Climate Change and Development (Earthscan) and Food Security: the science, sociology and economics of food production and access to food (Springer).

Within PRISE, Declan coordinates the GRI-LSE research. He also represents PRISE in liaising with ASSAR on the coordination of activities on climate science and scenarios, and represents PRISE in the cross-CARIAA working group on scenarios. He isĀ involved in research on Governance, Institutions and Finance, and is working on poverty alleviation, development planning and climate change.
