The report aims to provide a better understanding of the context in which these households live, and the constraints they are faced with.

This report contributes to the knowledge base for the management of climate risk to build economic resilience in semi-arid regions by analysing the main challenges to climate risk management in semi-arid zones, and identifying areas and sectors in which climate risk management represents a challenge in Africa and Asia. It also suggests new research directions, and recommends that policy makers and private sector actors should give greater consideration to the climate risk management dimension.
